Highlights
We will travel to the distant Esperanza valley, which is part of the National Park Vicente Perez Rosales, we will walk 5 to 6 hours per day with only 5kg in our back, the rest of the equipment will be carried in dry bags and transported in loaded horses Guided by local ‘arrieros’ . To end up this beautiful route we will sail in the majestic ‘All the Saints’ lake, walk through the Valdivian jungle, enjoy thermal baths with water at 70°C, visit old ‘rodales de Alerces’, have spectacular views of the glaciers of the Tronador volcano. We will be alert to the sound of the woodpecker and the footsteps of the puma, we will share with the local people who live in these lonely places that few tourists meet, and with their company we will enjoy the delicious dishes next to a good outdoor bonfire.

- Book collections related to the place, which will help you to enrich the experience and increase your knowledge.
- Conversations about minimal impact, land navigation, flora and fauna. The aim is to reinforce or to obtain basic knowledge about visiting wild areas and enjoying outdoor life.

Day by Day:
- Day 1 Puerto Varas/Thermals Esperanza river 18km/6 hours/170mts difference
We will go out very early in the morning and we will drive to the stunning ‘All the saints’ lake, with amazing views to the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. Here we will board a boat which will take us to the mouth of the white river where a local ‘arriero’ will be waiting for us with loaded horses. Here we start a trekking for about 5 or 6 hours which will take along old forests full of ‘arrayanes’ and ‘coihues’. The effort will be rewarded with a nice and hot bath of thermal water, which emanates at the edge of the Esperanza River. In our camp, we will have a bonfire and a delicious dinner to celebrate the day.
- Day 2 Thermals Esperanza River
Today we have 2 alternatives, for the ones who want to rest and enjoy the thermals, day off: for the others, walk for about 3 hours and ascend from a narrow valley which will take us to the Alvarado’s veranada, where we will visit old ‘alerce’ forests of 3000 years old, beautiful small lakes situated over the line of the forest. Once we are back, thermals and a lovely lamb barbeque to Patagonia style or a selection of the best vegetables harvest from the settler’s houses
- Day 3 Thermals Esperanza River/ Velasquez family 14 km/5 hours
A good breakfast to start the walking which will take us to the Reloncavi estuary, this time we will take a different path than the one that brought us to this gorgeous places of the north Patagonia, after about 5 hours walking we will come to the house of Velasquez family, we will set our camping and prepare a delicious dinner using the vegetables from their family vegetable garden.
- Day 4 Velásquez family/Cayutue small lake 15 km/5 hours/ 100mts descending
Today we will walk through dense forests, cross a lot of rivers, visit a cave that was used as a shelter by Huilliches and Jesuitas. We will have lunch next to some natural thermal hiding in the dense forest. At the end of the day we will set our camp next to the gorgeous Cayute small lake, having great possibilities of fishing. We will light a fire and cook the good bye dinner to celebrate the trip
- Day 5 Cayutue small lake/Puerto Varas 10 km/3 hours/200mts descending
Today we will start our trip back to Puerto Varas, after having a delicious breakfast we will start to walk for about 3 hours with stunning views of the Reloncavi estuary, the first stretch of the Chilean Patagonia. Once we are on the public road our private van will be waiting for us to take us to Puerto Varas.
