Day by Day:
- Day 1 Puerto Varas/Thermals Esperanza river 18km/6 hours/170mts difference
We will go out very early in the morning and we will drive to the stunning ‘All the saints’ lake, with amazing views to the Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes. Here we will board a boat which will take us to the mouth of the white river where a local ‘arriero’ will be waiting for us with loaded horses. Here we start a trekking for about 5 or 6 hours which will take along old forests full of ‘arrayanes’ and ‘coihues’. The effort will be rewarded with a nice and hot bath of thermal water, which emanates at the edge of the Esperanza River. In our cam camp, we will have a bonfire and a delicious dinner to celebrate the day.
- Day 2 Thermals Esperanza River
Today we have 2 alternatives, for the ones who want to rest and enjoy the thermals, day off: for the others, walk for about 3 hours and ascend from a narrow ‘alerce’ valley which will take us to the Alvarado’s veranada, where we will visit old forest of 3000 years old, beautiful small lakes situated over the line of the forest. Once we are back, thermals and a lovely lamb barbeque to Patagonia style or a selection of the best vegetables harvest from the settler’s houses.
- Day 3 Thermals Esperanza river 18 km/5 hours/170mts descending
We will wake up early to start our trip back to Puerto Varas, this time we will take a different path than the one that brought us to this gorgeous places of the north Patagonia. After about 5 hours walking we will find a boat which will take us back to Petrohue where our private van will be waiting for us to take us to Puerto Varas.
