One of our most demanded programs we decided to organize a traverse--climb from Salinillas valley to the summit and descending to Marmolejo valley.

This mountain it located on the heart of the Andes, it has the particularity of being the last 6000m mountain in the world, at the same time the wonderful glaciers and the impressive landscape around it, make Marmolejo a good adventure.

Included:

  • All meals from day 3, including wine and appetizers.   (except meals of Day1 and 2 )
  • All land transportation by a private van during the whole trip including airport pick up 3 hotel nights.
  • Ratio 1 guide per 3 customers.
  • All camping equipment, tents for two people (Mountain Hard Wear), Thermal Rest mattresses, kitchen tent, 70 lts. dry bags and more.
  • Professional First aid kit, GPS, UHF Radios, satellite phone handy, maps, repair kits.
  • Ski mountain guide bilingual, certified as wilderness first response.
  • A chef with a balanced diet in mind that will please the taste of the travelers and he also has some vegetarian specialties.
  • A book collection about the trips which will help you to enrich this experience and increase your knowledge about the places.
  • Conversations about minimal impact, land navigation, flora and fauna. The aim is to reinforce or to obtain basic knowledge about visiting wild areas and enjoying outdoor life. Participation will be voluntary.

Not included:           

  • Air Trips, insurance, personal equipment, tips or any other service not mentioned in this program.

  • Sleeping bag rental, edited video of the expedition or photo set.

Day by Day:

  • Day 1 Airport / Santiago
    We will welcome you at the airport and take you to a Hotel in Santiago.

  • Day 2 Santiago
    Free morning, checking equipment in the afternoon, and a meeting at the hotel

  • Day 3 Santiago/ Camp 1
    Early in the morning we will drive south from Santiago to Cajon del Maipo up to Salinillas valley, where mules and “arrieros” will be waiting for us to load our equipment. We will hike for about 6 hours until we reach our camp 1 at 3700m.

  • Day 4 Camp 1-Camp 2-Camp 1
    Carry our load to camp 2, it is a moderate climbing day from around 5 hours, then we will return to camp 1

  • Day 5 Camp 1-Camp 2
    After and early start we will move to camp 2

  • Day 6 Rest day
    This day will be used for acclimatizing

  • Day 7 Camp 2-Camp 3
    Today we will move to camp 3, from here we will have amazing views of the route above and the surrounding Andes

  • Day 8 Summit day
    After and early alpine starts we will begin our climbing to the summit, then we will return to camp 3

  • Day 9 Camp 3-Marmolejo Valley
    Tired but happy we will take off the high camp and start the returning of our camp in Marmolejo Valley where arrieros and mules will be waiting for us

  • Day 10 Marmolejo Valley/ Santiago
    Hike down to Baños Morales, here we will take our car to Santiago and at night we will be ready for a good dinner in a Santiago restaurant
