We suggest that you ask before drinking. We usually drink river water during our trips and we haven’t had any problems.
Do people leave tips in Chile?
Yes, we usually leave tips in hotels, restaurants, and for drivers in private trips but it is not usual to tip taxi drivers or when you get a hair cut. If you think you have received a good service and think that a tip will be appropriate, just leave one and it will always be welcomed.
Many of our passengers decide to leave a tip for the guide or the local guide after a trip but that of course is completely up to you.
What happens if I travel alone?
There is no problem with that. One alternative is to book any of our regular trips but you must know that our fares are based on double rooms and tents for two so you must be ready to share with somebody else. If you want a single room you will have to pay a bit extra. Another alternative is to hire a private trip just for you and this will have an extra charge between 300 and 500 dollars, depending on the trip.

We travel with a maximum of 8 people per trip to guarantee a personalized service. If you are thinking about traveling with a larger group we can organize a special trip. We have the necessary equipment and tents to travel with more than 16 people at once.

Our trips are meant for everybody but some of our routes have a higher degree of difficulty but not very much. Our trips range from easy to moderate, anybody who is reasonably fit and with no previous experience in trekking, horse riding or mountain climbing can do them. see degree of difficulty.
