Sea kayak Tagua Tagua Lake 1d

We will row between mountains and feel the wind and the water on our faces while we try to approach a huge fall that plunges directly to the water. To arrive to the lake we will drive the first stretch of the Austral Road, which opens a way between the Andes Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. This road is attractive and beautiful by itself. We will have views of the Osorno, Calbuco and Yates Volcanoes and will appreciate many falls that come from the mountains on their way to the sea.

Puerto Varas / Tagua Tagua Lake

Once in the Tagua Tagua Lake we will organize the equipment while we drink a lovely hot chocolate. Once we enter the lake with our kayaks we will have a conversation about safety, rescue and row techniques. Then we will start paddling for about 2.5 hours to cross this Andean lake with its enormous stone walls that go deep into the water and an amazing fall that goes directly into the lake. We will go near it to admire its strength and get the best pictures of the trip. At noon we will look for the best place to have lunch and enjoy the landscape. Later, depending on the weather and the group’s enthusiasm, we will either paddle back across the opposite edge of the lake or board a ferry that will take us back to our private van and back home.
